Matti Brax is a European Patent Attorney at Papula-Nevinpat. He is also a Partner in the company.
Matti specializes in patent assignments related to physics, cryogenics, quantum computing, electronics, and mining technology, with a particular focus on challenging opposition and appeal cases at the European Patent Office.
He has long-term experience in serving as a Finnish representative on the Council of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), as well as on the Boards of the Association of Finnish Patent Attorneys and the Finnish Association for Corporate Patent Agents.
Matti entered the field of patents in 1995 after working as a research engineer at the Laboratory of Space Technology at the Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University). After nearly two decades as a patent attorney, he transitioned to a corporate patent agent role at a Finnish electronics company. He later returned to his career as a patent attorney and joined our team at Papula-Nevinpat in 2017.
