Riikka Palmos has been a trademark lawyer at Papula-Nevinpat since 1995. She is a European Trademark Attorney, Senior Partner in the company, and serves as a member of both the Management Team and the Board of Directors. Additionally, Riikka is the Head of Trademark Department.

With 30 years of experience in intellectual property, Riikka has developed broad expertise in trademark law and practices. She specializes in trademark legislation and procedures in Finland, Europe, and Eurasia, including Russia and Ukraine.

Her extensive experience includes developing trademark strategies, drafting license and assignment agreements, protecting well-known trademarks, managing registration processes, and handling infringement cases and litigation before patent offices and courts. Riikka also leads the Legal Team at Papula-Nevinpat.

Before joining Papula-Nevinpat, she worked at Unilever Finland Oy as an assistant lawyer, focusing on the company’s intellectual property rights matters.

Riikka’s expert articles have been published in several leading IP journals such as World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR), Trademark Lawyer, Expert Guide Intellectual Property, Trade Mark Yearbook, IP at the Border, Litigation and Enforcement Focus, Managing Intellectual Property, and IP Strategy Yearbook.

She is a sought-after speaker at conferences and seminars, including EastCham, Talentum Lakikoulutus, IPR Nordic Forum, IPR University Center, INTA Table Topics, WIPR North America Trademark Conference, and numerous other seminars and training events.

Professional positions and memberships
Riikka is currently a member of the International Trade Committee at ECTA and represents Finland on the ECTA Supervisory Board. She has previously served on INTA’s Enforcement Committee (2014–2015) and INTA Trademark Office Practices Committee (2018–2019). In addition, she is a member of the Board of EastCham.

She is listed in WTR1000, the directory of the world’s leading trademark professionals, in the 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024 editions. Furthermore, Riikka was named among the 50 Influential Women in IP in 2022 and 2023 (WIPR Diversity).
